I’ve been studying the window boxes in the neighborhood, and I’ve been having a difficult time finding one that screams us. The mossy ones seem too disheveled, the metal boxes are too fussy, and wooden boxes seem to shabby. So, after finding a picture in Martha Stewart Outdoors mag I set on a search to find the perfect box.

I’m planning on getting these fiberglass boxes from Hooks & Lattice. Apparently it’s popular to get this style and paint them as you like.

After much thought, and searching the answer to our dining room table appeared. Our family friends happened to have this amazing table which was perfect for our needs. We snapped it up right away, and had it stripped (as it was covered in brown paint). Upon stripping the table we realized that the top and bottom of the table were not originally together. The legs appear to be from the late 1890’s and the top I’m not too sure about.

We just got these chairs for our fabulous new table. I love how modern these T back chairs look, and the pop of color is really fun. We got them at West Elm, in the store they were only $29 a piece. I wasn’t a West Elm fan before, but these days I keep finding such great basics at great prices.

I posted these lovely objects over at Seamsters too, but I’m just totally obsessed with these elephant champagne flutes by Siecel, which can be found at Vivre. I’ve been on a huge metallic kick in decorating our house. I love the look of greys mixed with gold and silver tones.

And these…Serpent trays by Eduardo Garza…they would be so perfect for serving drinks on for a New Year’s party!

Here is Joey with our new Windermere bedding from Anthropologie. I love how bold it is (to balance out the fact that I painted the walls pink, a neutral pink…). I’ll post some pics of the wall colors soon!

The world of lighting is unbelievably overwhelming. There are infinite options, millions of varieties, terribly traditional to garish, so many options…The lighting that I’m most excited about is finding a chandelier for the master bedroom and living room. I was prowling around ABC Carpet and Home’s website and saw this image that has similar charicteristics to our master bedroom. I keep finding myself late at night at Lowe’s staring mindlessly at their chandeliers. Leo tells me they are tacky. But I think that’s what a chandelier is supposed to be, tacky opulence.

I’m thinking that we will end up with something along those lines, lots of crystal parts, maybe just smaller and less lights.

Here is another style much more simple, from PB Teen
.
In my online search for chandeliers I stumbled upon my old classmate, David Weisman’s chandelier collage. I love the quirky mixture, very inspiring.

And I love this option from Pottery Barn, for Leo’s man room.

Since we have radiators, I’m looking into window treatments that won’t rest against them. Here is a Roman Blind with ribbon detail that I’m liking for the living room.

Here is a pocket shade which is another contender.

This week I’m on a hunt for finding switch plates. Here is one contender, a ceramic option from Lowe’s.
And here is Restoration Hardware’s option for ceramic.

And an RH option for aluminum switch plates.
