Front Door…

We’ve been agonizing over the perfect front door option.  Currently  (as shown below) we have a storm door with awful bars, a red wood door with decorative carvings with marble-textured yellow glass, and our transom is painted over with white high gloss paint.  So, anything would be an improvement.  Above are a few mocks (all with a transom, the top two being solid doors, and the bottom doors being two different styles of dutch doors).

Window Boxes…

I’ve been studying the window boxes in the neighborhood, and I’ve been having a difficult time finding one that screams us. The mossy ones seem too disheveled, the metal boxes are too fussy, and wooden boxes seem too shabby. So, after finding a picture in Martha Stewart Outdoors mag I set on a search to find the perfect box.

I’m planning on getting these fiberglass boxes from Hooks & Lattice. Apparently it’s popular to get this style and paint them as you like.

Cornice patrol…

Our cornice is in some major need of help.  On our stroll around the neighborhood we decided to see what other neighbors were up to with their cornices.  Most of the paint jobs in the neighborhood are pretty solid or the original cornices are covered with vinyl.

This was our favorite find on our walk.  I love how many different colors they have used to accent their woodwork.
