I love all these minimal rooms.  We have been on the hunt for a bed for a while now, and I love the simplicity of all of these shots.

I love the understated look to all of the below rooms. I spotted these pictures over at Moodboard, my new favorite blog for design inspiration.

Getting ready for Thanksgiving…

thanksgiving-table-001.jpg

It’s the night before Thanksgiving, and we just finished setting the table.  I made the linen table runners today, using a glue stick on the edges made the project go really fast.

I made the ‘vase’ by wrapping a paper napkin around a jar, and tied some twine around it to hold it all together.

And, as cliche as it is I always love photos and prints of silverware.  I also love the minimal look this arangement, it’s from restaurant Panne e Acqua.

Loving the rugged look of this kitchen space.

12.28_2.jpg

I posted these lovely objects over at Seamsters too, but I’m just totally obsessed with these elephant champagne flutes by Siecel, which can be found at Vivre. I’ve been on a huge metallic kick in decorating our house. I love the look of greys mixed with gold and silver tones.

And these…Serpent trays by Eduardo Garza…they would be so perfect for serving drinks on for a New Year’s party!

New Bedding!

Here is Joey with our new Windermere bedding from Anthropologie. I love how bold it is (to balance out the fact that I painted the walls pink, a neutral pink…). I’ll post some pics of the wall colors soon!

Surprise! There’s wallpaper under the paint…

plaster.jpg

During closing the owners applauded themselves and their care with taking out all the wallpaper and painting the house nicely.  Upon later inspection that day, after we signed the papers, we realized that their statement wasn’t all true.  There was indeed wallpaper in the master bedroom.  So, after chipping a little piece, Leo and I grabbed some spatuala’s and set to picking/scraping the wallpaper (that is covered with a million coats of glossy paint) off the walls.  I actually love the way the plaster looks, we’re thinking about cleaning it all off and leaving it bare.  In this shot you can see the outline of where there once was a mantel.  I’d love to break down the closet built to the right, and re-install a mantel again.

Joey didn’t really seem to know why we were making such a mess.  He spent most of the time hiding from us in the closet.

Dining room table…

Now that we’ve ordered the sofa, the next big purchase (and by big, I mean scale), is going to be a dining room table. We love to entertain, so we are hoping to find something like these casual looking tables and chair pairings. The above images are from Vogue Living and Elle Decoration.

Stained glass detail…

Leo and I have a love of historically accurate details. We walked around the neighborhood snapping pictures of elements we’d like to add to our home. Here is a great storefront we found on Girard Ave.

We are planning on having a similar stained glass piece made for our entranceway.

Moroccan Poufs…

pouf1.jpg

I’m in love with metallic poufs. I’m on the hunt for 3 silver metallic finish poufs. So far, I’ve found this gold style available at Calypso Home, and apparently John Derian carries metallic and pastel tones. Unfortunately these are way over budget, so I’m looking into some more affordable authentic options. Lately a lot of retailers have been doing modern takes on these such as West Elm, but I love the authentic embroidery and seaming that happens on the authentic varieties.
